TOP 5 BUSINESS TOOLS

Let these tools help you do the heavy lifting for your business.

Beth here.

Don’t let work get in the way of life. Avoid burnout, especially in these summer months when the sunshine and blue skies tease you from your office window.

No one ever said running a business was easy. But thanks to some of my favorite tools, your professional life can be a lot easier.

Here are my top five favorite tools that provide me freedom from work and freedom in life.

* This post is not sponsored. These are sincerely my most-used resources in my business toolbox. *

Tool #1: Calendly

Cost of Investment: $8+ monthly

Want a business secretary without the cost of an extra salary? Calendly has been a game-changer for my business. Not only am I cutting down on tons of back-and-forth emails, I’m also allowing for streamlined scheduling at the convenience of myself and my clients. I can create different types of meetings and events, and I can see my schedule at a glance. Calendly’s simple integration with Gmail plus its advanced workflows and automation make this tool a no-brainer.

Tool #2: Loom

Cost of Investment: Free → $8+ monthly

With all things business quickly moving to digital, we’ve all been scrambling for ways to fill the void of some of the in-person relational benefits. Loom has been crucial in combining relationships and online accessibility. Through videos, your team can now collaborate and work at their convenience…without the need to coordinate schedules. Again, cutting down on emails is one of the most notable differences Loom has helped me with. I’ve been able to use this tool to provide training videos, talk through more nuanced ideas with my team, brief my company, and build engagement from a distance. This subscription allows me to provide my clients and my team with a 5-star experience even when in-person isn’t an option.

Tool #3: Slack

Cost of Investment: Free or $6.67+ monthly

Communication is the big issue companies are trying to work through as they pilot more work-from-home models. Slack is a platform that has helped streamline communication as teams are no longer in the same building. With the ability to create different groups within an organization, your team can collaborate and talk shop without the interruption and clutter of dozens of email chains. Slack’s integration features allow you to connect with Google, Zoom, and Calendly, thus keeping your work moving smoothly without any added work on your part.

Tool #4: Typeform

Cost of Investment: $25 monthly

Harvesting data doesn’t have to be such a chore. Typeform provides beautiful forms and surveys that are user-friendly and cohesive. Using this tool has made information gathering easy and efficient.

Tool #5: Google Workspace

Cost of Investment: $6+ per user monthly

We all know that everything runs on Google. “Just Google it”…this business is a verb now. And for good reason. This integrative platform allows your work to be as efficient as possible. Collaborate on projects and documents, easily communicate with a team of people, shared access to the same information, living documents, easily scheduled meetings. The list goes on. Google is the hub of business activity.

Freedom from the work you no longer want to do. Freedom to do what you want.
